Talk pages

From Wikigogy

Jump to: navigation, search

See New page#Comments for a description of temporary in-page comments (comments to be deleted once attended to) as an alternative to talk pages for use on pages you are currently collaborating with someone on.

Every editable page on Wikigogy has a corresponding Talk page for discussing its content

  • Click discussion at top of a page to get to its talk page
  • Click edit at top of an actual talk page to talk/comment on it
  • Sign your comments on Talk pages with --~~~~ (it produces --Username and date stamp).
  • Indent replies by adding colons (:, ::, :::, ::::) so that it is clear what you are replying to.
  • Be courteous not shy; we want to hear what's on your mind (relevant to the corresponding page of course).

Example talk page

Use headers

Use headers on Talk pages to start threads. --Roger 05:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Indent replies to comments with colon (:) like I have done here. --Roger 05:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Replies to replies get two colons (::) like this line. --Roger 05:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Headers start and end with two equal signs --Roger 05:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Second level headers start and end with three equal signs, third level headers with four, etc. --Roger 05:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Be courteous not shy

Be courteous not shy. We want to hear from you. Talk pages are a place where members can talk about what they want to do with the corresponding article. If you are confidant about edits you want to do on an article, please do it. That's what Wiki's are for. If anyone changes the page in a manner you disagree with or don't understand, please talk about it on that article's Talk page. --Roger 05:32, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
