A Card based lesson
Prepare a bunch of slips of paper with common items named on them — bicycle, refrigerator, etc. Pairs of students draw one item each and have to debate which is more important. I give them 1 minute to prepare, then a few minutes debate on each topic.
The advantage is that topics are so obviously silly it can break down inhibitions.
Cards
Word sets can be mixed up. Choice of words depends on level and interests of students.

- Quick debate/Hard card set (needs your help -- add words please! My brain is dried up.)
