Huawai - Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language Institute, invites applications for Associate Professor positions starting in the fall of 2006.

Requirements: PhD, preferably in social sciences, literature or education; native fluency; strong background in instructional technology and in language teaching; must be prepared to teach courses in the language at beginning and advanced levels, as well as literature and culture courses; demonstrated excellence in teaching, curricular, program development; strong commitment to research and to teacher-scholarship.

Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language Institute (or Huawai), Changchun, China, offers majors in English, Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, French and Russia. It provides intensive training in a particular language, its literature and culture. Also Chinese language and culture courses are offered for international students. Presently, it has over 6, 000 students and 400 full-time faculty members. They include 46 international teachers from all over the world B the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Korea, and Japan. The institute offers around 50 professional tracks each fall.

Huawai is located in Changchun, near the Jingyue National Forest (the largest artificial forest in Asia). The school has a beautiful campus, and advanced teaching and living facilities.

Hauwai was authorized to issue Bachelor's degrees by the State Ministry of Education, and the first private college in China to do so. As one of the most selective private colleges in the nation, Huawai aspires to serve as a bridge to the younger generation which they shall cross over to become an integral part of the world at large, and to assimilate Chinese and Western cultures.
