Giving directions with a Map
Giving Directions to someone riding a bike in a city
Look at a map (provided by teacher) and discuss with your group members all of the place and street names. Explain to each other how to get from one location to another. Create your own map of several blocks in a city with street names and store-services-entertainment names.
Teacher talk about turn left/right, cross to the corner diagonally from you, stand at the south-east corner to start, walk south 3 blocks then turn to the west, go to the first traffic light, and make directions as simple as possible for better memory. Summarize and practice giving directions by selected individuals to whole class.
